ISLAMABAD – Rotary Ambassador and former United Nations Ambassador for Polio Eradication Aseefa Bhutto Zardari has condemned the attack on policemen escorting polio workers in Karachi.
Aseefa, in a statement here on Thursday, expressed sympathies with the families of the policemen, who laid down their lives to protect the children from the crippling disease. She regarded the policemen as brave martyrs and assured her support to their families.
She said the attackers were “beasts” who were trying to hinder the nation’s progress. She said Pakistanis were a resilient nation and would continue to fight polio till its eradication. They stood united to defeat the “beasts” for a safe future to the children, she said.
