DADU: A team from the Nat
ional Accountabi
lity Bureau (NAB) raided the district accounts office on Wednesday and seized records of embezzlement in GP funds of employees. They also obtained recovery of drawn bills amounting to a million rupees – four times in the name of a single government employee.
The NAB team took the records of drawing amou
nt by various heads in the names of employees of education, health, agriculture, works and services, roads, buildings, police, fisheries and live stock, forest, exercise and taxation departments since 2014.
The team found misappropriation from fake bills of GP funds of employees; as a result they questioned the district officer and treasury officers while the nat
ional exchequer was being looted at length.
The team also issued notices to th
e officers including district account officer and treasury officer terminating them from services and conducting an inquiry against some of them. Reliable sources told Daily Times that the NAB was informed through letters and applicat
ions that officials had been drawing one bill four times with new identity of various subordinates in all departments since 2010.
The inquiry has extended to incomplete schemes and substandard material used in the projects as hefty corruption has drawn the attention of the public who has assured NAB of their cooperation.
