ISLAMABAD: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carrie
d out by Gallup Pakistan, 44% Pakistanis say that if Asif Ali Zardari was head of state, the economic situation of the country would have been better or no different.
A na
tionally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces wa
s asked, “Suppose that Asif Ali Zardari was the head of state instead of Nawaz Sharif, would the economic situation of the country have been better, worse or there would not have b
een any difference?” In response to this question, 22% sa
id it would have been better, 56% said worse, while 22% said there would not have b
een any difference.
The study was released by Gilani Research Foundation and carrie
d out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup Interna
tional.
The recent survey was carrie
d out among a sample of 1871 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during December 26 – January 2, 2017. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
