BISHAM: Serious irregularities of recruitments and promotions of teachers holding fake degrees have been unearthed in the education department of Shangla district.
According to well placed sources in the education department as many as 45 primary school teachers who had recently been recruited held forged documents that were allegedly availed from a private sector Al-Kher University in Azad Kashmir.
Similarly, at least 55 other teachers have also been promoted to the ranks of subject specialists in Grade-17 after allegedly availing forged documents from the same university.
The sources said that these degrees had no records with the university. Sources maintained that a team of the education department visited the university in Azad Kashmir to ascertain the validity of the documents. However, the university termed the degrees as fake and denied any record of the certificate holders. The sources said the education department in the district had initiated an enquiry to ascertain the validity of the educational documents of teachers who secured their certificates from Al-Kher University in Azad Kashmir.
