KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Health Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar on Wednesday said that he will take strict action against medical staff, especially doctors, if they were found absent from their respective duties.
During a surprise visit to Sindh Government Hospital, Mehtab expressed great concern on seeing that some medicines were not available and the staff was absent.
He visited several wards and directed medical superintendent Dr Asad Ullah to make them properly functional as soon as possible, adding that he would not listen to any excuse next time.
The minster observed that many wards such as the dialysis ward were not operational and that most of the doctors were assigned night duties as compared to general ones.
He further directed the superintendent to make changes in the gynaecology and nursery ward by upgrading the Neonatal Intensive Care unit up to the mark.
